The Saint Electric is one of the major gods of the Peninsula, tied to both electricity, and the radio.

Description

The Saint Electric is referred to with she/her pronouns. Marks of the Saint Electric are featured on a variety of electrical appliances, from coffee machines to trains. It is unclear to what extent that prayer marks of the Saint Electric power these appliances, or whether they work in tandem.

Notable Events

• Carpenter establishes that her parents were thrown off of the Hydroelectric Dam, to consecrate it to the Saint Electric. It is revealed that the Saint Electric is the reason for the predominance of radio in the Peninsula, particularly in Glottage, with Faulkner stating that 'she's everything down there'.

• The blackouts in Season 3 are caused by rebellion and growing anti-sacrificial sentiment within the Church Electric, especially at power plants. This comes to a head at Fenton and the Cathedral Of The Sacred Grid, in which Webb, Moss and Silverwood lead their own rebellion inspired by the events at Fenton.

• Melissa Dalton has been blamed internally within the Church Electric for being the cause of the blackouts.

Organization

The Saint Electric is established as one of the gods most prominently featured on Sid Wright's radio show. Faulkner says that there was a popular local legend in the Whisper Plains that the pylons, angels of the Saint Electric, would walk across the woodland, causing destruction and forcing electricity companies to pay out hush money.

The Saint prefers radio to other forms of electronic communication.

The Saint Electric is also in control of trains in Nesh and power plants in the Peninsula.

• Melissa Dalton is the regional head of the North, North-Western and West strands of the Church Electric in the Peninsula. She is a head of commerce.

Saints, Angels or Miracles

• Train stewards in Nesh are Saints to the Saint Electric, pinned to the front of the trains, with marks of the Saint electric burnt into their flesh.

• The radio pylons are Angels to the Saint Electric, their erection in the countryside of the peninsula being representative of Glottage's sphere of control.

• Brother Wharfing refers to an electric burn on his chest as a blessing of the Saint Electric.
